Lower Dolpo trek takes us to the wonderful yet remote western part of Nepal. Lying in the Karnali region of Nepal, it has very sensitive and remote geography requiring special trekking permits from the immigration office. The trek to this region was opened for foreigners from 1982. Since then, it has been attracting a huge number of trekkers and travelers. The unique charm of Lower Dolpo has been named as the “hidden treasure of Nepal”. Best suited for adventure lovers, this trek covers two major high passes namely, Baga La at (5,070m), Num La (5190m) and the beautiful Phoksundo Lake itself. The beauty and attraction of Phoksundo Lake, the ecosystem of the area, the diversity of flora and faunas and the culture of the people living here are very heartwarming. Despite being such a heavenly place, the lifestyle of people living here is still primitive and backward. But the hospitality they shower is incomparable to any joy.

Itinerary:

We will be eagerly waiting for your arrival in Kathmandu. As you land at the airport, one of our representatives will meet and greet you and drop you off at the hotel for rest. We will then see you for the welcome dinner in the evening.

Early in the morning, we will have our breakfast and go sightseeing in nearby places. Then, after checking for the required stuff, we will take a scheduled flight to Nepalgunj, a city in the western region that has much to offer.

From Nepalgunj, we will take a short flight to Juphal in Dolpo and start our trek to Dunai. The flight will take around 45 minutes and the trek will be about 3 hours long.

From Dunai, we will trek for 6 hours through the green forests and small villages to reach Tarakot.

A 7-hour long trek will lead us from Tarakot to Laini.

Trek from Laini to Nawarpani (3,545m) for about 6 hours.

Trek from Nawarpani to Do Tarap and acclimatize (4,090m)

Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4,440m)

Cross Numa La Base Camp (5,190m) and camp at Pelung Tang (4465m)

Cross Baga La Pass ( 5,070m) and trek to Dajok Tang (4,080m)

Trek to Ringmo from Dajok Tang (3,600m)

Hike to Phoksundo Lake

Trek from Phoksundo Lake to Shyanta (2,520m)

Trek from Shyanta to Juphal

Fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu

On your farewell, one of our representatives will drop you off at the airport at your scheduled time. We hope to see you again for more adventurous journeys.
