Description:
Tent Peak (5,844m), also called the Tharpu Chuli peak in the south part of the Annapurna Region is a great choice for amateur mountaineers. Less challenging and technical than Mera peaks and Island Peak, Tent peak does not fail to offer the adventure, thrill and panoramic 360 degrees view when reached the top. The trek passes through the Annapurna Sanctuary and following the rushing Modi Khola, which makes the journey very relaxing and refreshing. The Tent Peak Climbing takes the adventure beyond simply trekking.
Tent peak climbing can be regarded as a preliminary experience for climbing higher mountains. Even though the climb is not very difficult, one needs to have a very good physical health condition and needs to acclimatize well before actually starting the climb. For this, we can combine the climb with some popular treks in the Annapurna region like Annapurna Base camp Trek, Poonhill and Tadapani Trek and many more. It will not only acclimatize your body but also strengthen your body and prepare yourself for the peak climbing.
The trail encompasses a wide variety of floras and faunas in the Annapurna Conservation Area, the variation in ecosystem and vegetation, the picturesque villages, dense forests, snowy glaciers, stunning views of the mountains in the Annapurna Range and many more. The most attractive element of this trek is also the hospitality of indigenous people who live in harmony and follow very simple and primitive lifestyles.
We start our trek from Ghandruk, a popular tourist destination, then leading to Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp. After crossing the South Annapurna Glacier, we reach the base camp where we spend a day for acclimatization and move on to the High Camp and finally summit the peak. We will be following the standard Northwest Ridge for the summit.
